Thank you for visiting my site.  I am so proud to be part of our Deaf Community.  My story is I fell in love with the culture, the language, history and most of all, the people back in college.  I went to the University of Arizona and took my first ASL class. ASL 101, and as a visual learner, I picked up on ASL very fast.  I also fell in love with the beauty of the language and so I continued down my “ASL Path” and took more and more classes.  I took every class that was available, anything to do with learning the language, the history of Deaf Culture and diving into all of the information I could get my hands on.  To make a long story short, I just fell in love with all of it.

I recall going to my first Deaf party in college (I had to be invited, could not just show up).  I was so nervous but was super excited to meet new friends.  I was all in. 

When I was done with college, I got a job very quickly (within a week) in the mortgage industry.  Numbers just made sense to me and I absolutely love the ability to educate and assist people with the most important decisions in their lives.  Purchasing homes and refinancing can be extremely stressful and overwhelming however with the right education and process, it can be fun and exciting.  This is what I wanted to provide to each person I work with.  It was my mission.

As I continued in the mortgage industry, I realized we have a small but profound Deaf Community right here in Arizona.  I met a few Deaf clients just through other friends that were looking for education and information on how to become a homeowner.  I instantly fell in love with the idea of using my ASL skills within my career. Now as the years have gone by, I have grown my influence as the ASL Loan Officer across the country and assist many Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Hearing Impaired (mild to profound), Mute as well as CODAs and family and friends of the Deaf Community.  I am ALL IN!

What most people do not understand is ASL (American Sign Language) is it’s own separate full language and it’s NOT UNIVERSAL.  So sign language has it’s own language for each country and language just like the spoken language.  To break it down, the American language has 26 letters in the alphabet.  When we do not have a specific sign for a word, we will fingerspell a word.  Spanish has 27 letters and some are very different from the English language.  So, it would be impossible to fingerspell a word from English to Spanish just based on fingerspelling.  So, ASL is the American Sign Language, just as French has their own language known as FSL and we can continue for each language around the world.  I find this so fascinating.

But back to being a Loan Officer.. 

My main focus as ASL Loan Officer is communication.  I want to communicate in your first language. As I mentioned before, this process can get very complicated and a bit overwhelming.  It is vital for me to be able to communicate to you in your first language face to face (Microsoft Teams, Zoom or Facetime) to secure we understand each other and we do not miss out on any language barriers.  I find that using an interpreter is not as effective so I only communicate directly with my clients.  I need to know you understand. 

I started in the mortgage industry on June 1, 1998 when the industry was still based on the determination for mortgage qualification.  Mortgages were qualifying only with full loan packages:  3 years tax returns, 6 months bank statements with at least 10% down payment and 6 months extra reserves in the bank.  Presenting loan documents can make or break the ability to qualify for a mortgage.  Don’t allow lack of experience or knowledge get in the way of you qualifying for a mortgage. My extensive knowledge and background in the mortgage industry, allows me the opportunity to take over many declined loan packages and turn them into complete purchase and refinance transactions with accurate information.  Structuring loans and simplifying the loan process for our clients is what we do best.  In the industry of extensive income documentation, full loan disclosure and invasive inquiries, I can make the process more streamline by simplifying and educating our clients along the way.  They will understand each step and feel confident we have the ability to close their transaction.  Unlike many other lenders, we believe in providing and disclosing everything upfront, full transparency with communication thus setting our clients for full SUCCESS.  We prepare our clients for worst case so at the end, they are pleasantly surprised with more money in their pocket, less closing costs and overall less invasive process.  Building trust is vital when coaching clients through the home buying process.

I have financed many loans from $10,000 as large as $4.7 million.  I have worked with all kinds from doctors, lawyers, self-employed clients, investors, professional athletes, teachers, first time homebuyers, and many other types of clients.  Regardless of the client or their occupation, each and every one is qualified as an individual and each loan application is processed with special care.  Clients are not just a number.
